PROJECT - LIFE GREEN BATTERIES
The Green Batteries Project is co funded by the EU Program LIFE ENVIRONMENT.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
Design and implementation of a separate collection and recycling system in Crete, having as a target:
- - The minimization of hazardous waste ending up in landfills.
- - The harmonization with the provisions of EU and national legislation concerning the management of batteries and accumulators.
- - The dissemination of information to the public concerning the management and recycling of hazardous waste and
- - The development of a pilot system for the collection and recycling of batteries and accumulators in Crete, which can provide the basis for the development of a new network for the recycling of batteries in Greece according also to the new Greek legislation.
