The transportation of collected accumulators and batteries to the recycling unit has to be performed according to the existing legislation on the transportation of hazardous waste. The relevant ADR Convention constitutes the European Convention for the international road transport of dangerous goods, and was named ADR from the acronym of the words of the French text "Accord europeen relatif au transport international des merchandises Dangereuses par Route". The relevant Greek legislation is the Ministerial Decision F2/21099/1700 (OJ 509B/7.4.2000), which amends the Presidential Decree 104/99 (OJ 113Á/4.6.1999) "Harmonization of the Greek Legislation with the provisions of Directive 94/55/EC of 21.11.1994 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States with regard to the transport of dangerous goods by road", thus transposing the provisions of Directive 96/86/EC
