1. Activities implemented by the Information, Communication, Technology and Documentation (ICT Center) following a decision of the General Secretary of the Region.
• Management and classification of the electronic file system on issues which are related to legislation and procedures of the Region even for issues related to European Union legislation (regulations, directives, and decisions) as well as its Structural Funds.
• Management and classification of the electronic file system on issues related to legislation and case law of the Region and implementation of Public Works.
2. The collection and monitoring of statistical information about the economic, social and cultural status in the region.
• Document Formatting and Printing Services for the Region of Crete (General Direction and Direction Crisis Management)
• Planning for the purchasing of electronic equipment for projection of Region of Crete
• Digitalisation, elaboration and printings of material (forms, maps, etc)
• IT support during the elections, processing of electoral results of the Region and statistics.
3. The responsibility for the function of the library and its enrichment with printed material.

4. The selection of the Region’s activities which should be computerized.
• Coordination and attendance of projects, design of Information Systems, telecommunications, satellite data and geographical information systems.
• Analysis, development and installation of specific software packages for in-service use which is based on modern technologies and existing technical infrastructure of the region.
5. The advisement of applications and the implementation and development and support of information system of the Region.
• Management Information System for the Personnel of the Region of Crete.
• Management and computerization of technical support that includes travel.
• Software for the administration of technical support and compensation.
• Software for the administration of contests organised by the region
• e-project: Management of the European programs
• time-tracking: Recording of employment time of personnel in various activities, print work sheets and view of aggregate data.
• Search engine and archiving of protocol
• Contest-manager: Software for tracking of calls for tender
• e-points: Considerations and point system for the evaluation and appointments of departmental managers and heads of directorates in the public sector.
• Data Migrations (Protocol system, Personnel management).
• Design of tools and Management processes - selection & installation
• Technical support and report of information.
• Software tools for internal processes and activities of the Department.
• Training and user support of the Region of Crete content management system and web portal of the Region of Crete - www.crete-region.gr
6. The evaluation, selection and replacement of an integrated information system that contains servers, operating systems and databases
• Administration of Operating System (Linux, IBM AIX, Windows Server) that manage data and services in the Region (e.g. e-mail)
• Web sites of the Region of Crete (www.crete-region.gr)
• Management and Planning of Databases (ORACLE, SQL SERVER, MySQL, Geographic Information Systems)
• Daily support of communications and Internet access, manage links.
• Support and maintenance of the telephone center.
• Explore technology solutions and equipment for wireless networking services in the Region in order to reduce the operating expenses consumed daily on leased telephone lines and data.
• Support, customization, upgrade and maintenance of personal computers and Peripheral computer hardware systems.
• Procurement of materials management and maintenance contracts.
7. Other activities
• Management of technological equipment of the conference center of the region (Sound and projection systems)
